Copy table schema and upload table schema into new app. Is there a tool to be able to do this?
Hey @Shawn , welcome to the community!
No that’s not a thing really.
There are some experiments with building Chrome extensions or other things that myself and others have done, but no major official releases by anybody. *Yet
If you take a look at the Note Parameter Workshop there is code that you can put into the note for the headers of your tables, so that when you regenerate the table the system picks up on the code and configures the column settings for you. They can be a bit fiddly to work with, they’re extremely fragile, and no official documentation or support is available… But if you get the code right, it will greatly speed up a lot of your time.
- These don’t however have anything to do with anything other than the column settings. So they don’t have anything to do with the view configurations, actions, automations, slices, formulas and virtual columns, formatting rules, you name it.
It helps a little bit, but not really. It’s really good for if you have tables that produce specific functionality behavior in your app, this serves as a sort of jump start to get that moving a little faster.
- I’ve actually got a crap load of pre-built tables that do this sort of thing available for my supporters
Thank you for the reply. I saw your post about the tables. I kinda knew that I was going to come up short on this one. I’ll try your table method next time I know I’m going to be working with a tedious table. Any thoughts on Ai assistance in this matter? No reply needed here, just planting a seed for a future video. Thanks again, for the reply and your YouTube videos.
